Comprehensive Reading

Reading books other than your textbooks is a great idea. It not only helps your reading skills, but also your vocabulary development, understanding of collocations, and reading skills. It's also a lot of fun (in my opinion).  Take a look at these sites to get you started:

Penguin Readers

Beyond Penguin Readers

Oxford University Press

There are also a number of sites that recommend recently published books. Take a look at these popular book reviewers in the UK and the USA.

Richard and Judy

Oprah Winfrey

The New York Times

One of the best ways of finding out which books are good to read though is by asking your fellow students or your teachers.  So, please write some recommendations of books that you have read and enjoyed reading in the comments section below.   Thanks.
